You can be wealthy and not have a rich life.

God has given us money for several reasons:

  1. To enjoy our wealth
  2. To be good Stewards
  3. To Overflow into our world

What is it that ultimately satisfies us in life?  It is putting God first.  It is not about getting rich, it’s about recognizing God as our supplier for everything, whether we have a little or a lot.

If God has blessed you with wealth, he wants you to enjoy it.  He doesn't want you to be controlled by it.  We see in our society people with and without money thinking they will find security in having a lot of money.  They both are mistaken.

Enjoy Your Wealth – Ecclesiastes 5:18-19

  • 18 Here is what I have seen to be good and fitting: to eat, to drink and enjoy oneself in all one’s labor in which he toils under the sun during the few years of his life which God has given him; for this is his reward.
  • 19 Furthermore, as for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, He has also empowered him to eat from them and to receive his reward and rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.

Stewardship – Matthew 25:14-30

The passage is about using what God has given us wisely.  We are to use the abilities and money we have received to fulfill our purpose on earth until the master returns.  This is Stewardship.  Also, in the passage, God said to the first servant "Well done, good and faithful servant!"  I want to help you be like the first servant.

Overflowing into your world

For some people, the Overflowing life means strictly means maximizing their retirement.  For some, it means overflowing into their immediate and extended family lives. For some, it means to overflow into the world around us.  As Believers in Christ Jesus, we are “jars of clay."  We are filled with a precious treasure for the world around us. So, let us use our money, talents, and time to invest in Kingdom work.  Don’t miss the opportunity to Overflow into yourself, family, and the world around you.
